Are you blinded by the price?
With all the discounting going on, it concerns me that cruisers may forget the most important aspect of selecting a cruise (or any type of travel) — personal interests and lifestyle.
If your only criterion is finding the cheapest price, you might easily wind up on a ship having little in common with other passengers or not enjoying the ambience, which clearly will affect your level of enjoyment.
For example, Carnival refers to themselves as the “fun ships”, but what is your idea of fun? If it includes gambling and staying up late dancing, then Carnival, Royal Caribbean or NCL may be for you. If, however, your idea of fun is relaxing on a quiet deck, enjoying fine dining and attending art or enrichment lectures, you might consider another line.
The point is - seek guidance or do your research first to determine which ship(s) best suit your personal interests and lifestyle. Then start looking for the best value on those cruise lines/ships.
Most vacationers don’t have a frame of reference regarding cruise selection and it is critical you are guided through this important process by someone who does. A cruise specialist/agency is by far the best place to start.
